It was also the residence of the famous majesty king of Cambodia, Jayavarman VII, during the reconstruction of his permanent home in Angkor Thom.Neak Pean, it is only a small temple with a collection of five ponds. It is worth seeing due to its unique features. It is believed that the temple was built to celebrate Buddha achieving the state of Nirvana. The central pond is a replica of Lake Anavatapta in Himalayas, situated on the top of the universe.
  • Eastern Mebon, It is a brick temple on a small island in the middle of Eastern Baray, which was a large water reservoir 2 by 7 km. It was built in second half of the 10th century.

2:00PM: We go on by bike to:

  • Banteay Samre Temple, Large, comparatively flat temple displaying distinctively Angkor Wat-style architecture and artistry. It was constructed around the same time as Angkor Wat. Many of the carvings are in excellent condition.
  • And then ride back to Pre Rup Temple, it is architecturally and artistically superior temple-mountain temple with beautifully carved false doors on upper level, as well as an excellent countryside view of the surrounding area. It is the second temple built after the capital was returned to Angkor from Koh Ker after a period of political upheaval. It is very nice to see the golden temple just before sunset. After sunset, you will be transferred back to town by four-wheel air-conditioner vehicle.
