The way to Chong Khneas Village

OVERVIEW

Spend a day cycling to discover the city of Siem Reap and its southern part. Visitors will have a chance to explore the landscape of Khmer villages, the greatest natural heritage lake in Southeast Asia Tonle Sap and lifestyles of Khmer people and Vietnamese immigrants in floating villages. The trip will cover around 30kms. You cycle around the city and pass suburb, rice fields and floating villages. Cambodia has a long history in rice farming which offers natural beauty; the best way to explore the wonderful scenery is to cycle. When we cycle around the city we could see anything detail and our feeling in straight and enjoyed; especially, when you go off-road to suburb village with the red dirt narrow ways, you will see the real lifestyle, rice field and throw to floating village.

08:00AM: City Tour by bike

  • A guide picks you up at the hotel for cycling around the city to see Khmer people’s house and their lifestyles, daily activities at big Lee market (the biggest market in Siem Reap) and old market (tourist market, made by French in 1924). Then have lunch at a local restaurant and rest at the hotel.

02:30PM: Suburb tour by bike

  • The tour will depart from hotel to visit the villages, you with see the real life of the Khmer people, their house and lifestyles. Interestingly, you will experience fresh and happy feeling because of welcome voices and smiles of Khmer children and adults along the way. And then, you will explore green and golden with fresh air and good rice smell. This makes you feel peace and freedom. It is a good spot for taking pictures and photos of Khmer people with the rice fields and palm trees. Next, we’re visiting floating villages where Khmer and Vietnamese immigrants survive by fishing. You will see the real life of the people there. How do they live? What are their occupations for feeding their family? How do children study/go to school? Where do they celebrate their beliefs? Where do they go for shopping? We can see fish and crocodile feeding in the gage. Sunset pictures on the water cannot be missed. After sunset, you cycle back the city.
